Oral health

The Oral Health Promotion Service provides oral health education, advice, information and training, in various settings, to groups of all ages and abilities.

The team train and support health visiting teams, early years settings and family hubs. The team also provide dental screenings and support supervised toothbrushing programmes for children.

Oral Health Champions

Oral health champion tooth graphicAn oral health champion is someone who promotes good dental health in their workplace. Champions act as a point of contact for key oral health information and share updates with their team. Champions can join free webinars for up-to-date advice and support. They also receive helpful resources and newsletters they can pass on in their settings including:

  • Primary, secondary and special needs schools
  • Nurseries and early years settings
  • Family hubs
  • Care homes
  • Health visiting teams
  • Supported living

Health fairs and events

The team is happy to provide information and advice at organised health fairs and events in a fun and interactive way. This has proved popular at school health days, county shows, college health fairs. You can find more information resources and support on our webpage.
