Welcome to the 'This is Me' professional resource hub. This is Me is a tool that looks at a child’s strengths and needs, focussing on neurodivergence. It will help everyone to understand children and young people’s differences and meet their needs at home and at school.
If a child or young person needs extra support in school, their needs will be addressed using the assess, plan, do, and review cycle. The ‘This is Me’ needs summary can be part of this graduated approach process. You should continue making any necessary referrals and providing support, using strategies and resources from quality first teaching and the Mainstream Core Standards, to meet their needs as early as possible. Please use the advice and resources in conjunction with your 'This is Me' handbook. Many of the strategies and resources recommended are part of Quality First Teaching and included in the Mainstream Core Standards and Mainstream Core Standards Parent Guide.
After completing the needs summary, parents will be directed to the This Is Me resource parents hub.
Some resources may mention a specific condition. These may be helpful in addressing identified differences within the needs summary but it's important to remember that using these resources does not imply a diagnosis is required or necessary.
