Here you will find health information and presentations on various topics including allergy, epilepsy, hearing, continence and oral health. They are designed to support school staff to have a greater awareness of health issues concerning children and young people in a school setting.

Guide to health services for five to 11-year-olds

The NHS Kent and Medway parent toolkit is a free digital booklet designed for families of five to 11-year-olds. It provides guidance on local health services, childhood illnesses, medicine cabinet essentials, vaccinations, and mental health support, and is available to download.

Session information

  • Asthma and epilepsy sessions provide basic awareness training. The allergy session has been updated to meet the learning outcomes set out in the statutory allergy safety guidance for schools.
  • We recommend each member of staff registers individually to receive their own certificate of attendance. If you attend as a group, only the person who registered will receive a certificate.
  • Certificates will be emailed within 24 hours of the session.
  • Some mobile devices may not support the training sessions.
  • Please join at least five minutes before the start time.
  • If you have trouble joining, this is usually due to a virus scanner, firewall or browser issue. Please contact your IT team for support.
  • Attendees are responsible for joining on time and taking part in the learning.
  • Kent School Health does not formally assess knowledge, skills or competence after training. It is your responsibility to reflect on your learning and decide whether you have the knowledge and confidence needed for your role. If you need further support, please speak to your manager and seek additional training or supervision as appropriate
  • Kent School Health does not offer face-to-face training sessions.
